Older icons
I usually wrote on this blog: "I created new icon set ...", "I added new icon set inspired by ..." and the like. I did not tell anything about creating icons using the 3D of RealWorld Icon editor until this summer. On beginning of summer 2012, I added a video tutorial about creating Thor's Hammer icon and Mime icon from Happy Tree Friends series.
I will continue with showing you, how I create the icons, not only with presentation of the result. So, I am examining my Icon gallery and remembering, which icon is special and in what.
In next months I will add some posts about my older icons, with simple tutorial how it was created. Of course I will add the posts about new icons that I create too.
If you want to know how I created a concrete icon, please leave a comment.

Shape tool
I tried to use new version of RealWorld Paint program and a new tool named "Shape" for comic illustration. If you want to try the new version too, download this file http://download.rw-designer.com/2012.1/beta/RWPaint.zip, unzip it and run RWPaint.exe file.
You find the Shape tool in vector layer.
How does it work? I can't tell now.. I am still experimenting. And here are some of my tests. Left is the original photo and right the illustration version.
Maybe you are surprised why am I writing about this tool in my icon blog.. I am thinking how to use this tool in icon creations. Animal icon or illustrated version of Doctor Who actors can be good ideas.

Avengers icons
In the beginning of June I posted a video tutorial about Thor hammer icon. I forgot to add the post about Avengers icon set. So I am correting my mistake and adding the post now. The set includes some of Avenger hero symbols - Thor's Hammer, Captain America shield, Black Widow spider and Iron Man mask - and the symbol of SHIELD organization.
My favorite from this set is the Iron Man mask. This icon is most complicated too. I spend 2 days just thinking how to create it in 3D of RealWorld Icon editor. On the picture below you see parts from which is the mask composed. I used only rectangural surfaces.
Anyway, I hope, I will create the remaining symbols in the next months. To download, visit my website on address: http://www.sireasgallery.com/iconset/avengers/

Chess Icons
I created this icon set on request on RW designer forum. Set includes all chess pieces that you need for playing the chess game in two oposite colors. The icons were inspired by game from Windows 7 - Chess Titans.
The most complicated icon from this set is the knight piece. The shape of its mane was create with 4 vector variables and 1 iterator. One sphere was copied along a curve. The curve was defined by points associated with vector variables.
Below you can see the Knight piece in the large size.

Sharp Kitchen
Icon set Sharp Kitchen is second part of my icons for improving your kitchen. In the first part I have created icons of things which you need for cooking - pan, pot and mixing - wooden spoon etc. This part includes things for cutting and slicing. Some of these things are really dangerous.
Speciality of this set is the grater icon with holes. If you use the RealWorld Icon editor, you probably know that making a hole is difficult in this program. But for me it was a challenge. I thought: "It must be possible, the question is how".
I have created the "standard" hole from rectangural surface. You can see it on the picture.
I am adjusting this basic shape and obtain different shapes with holes. The grater hole look like this:
With iterator I copied the hole next to each other in one row and I copied this row again. Empty space between holes were filled in by changing the margins of the hole. The pictures explain more.
Same as in the other post a download link must not be missing: http://www.sireasgallery.com/iconset/sharpkitchen/

Doctor Who - second part
I am still prepearing Doctor Who icon set. I have to tell that it is very complicated for me. Maybe I am creating the 3D models too realistic. Anyway, this set is the most complicated of all my icons. I can't tell how many parts to use in an icon, because I am using references, where it is possible. I hope, that till the end of August I will have the set published.
In the last post on this blog I wrote about the Dalek icon. Today I like to present my next icon - Tardis.
On the picture is Tardis with open door and the lantern turned on. In the final set, there will be Tardis with close door and switched off lantern.
Now, I am prepearing the Doctor Who pocket watch, but it is different story, maybe for next post.
